Reemah Rose al-Urfali (b. 1989 Spokane, Washington) is an Iraqi poet, translator, model, sociologist, candle-maker, psychoanalyst, literary scholar, and mystic philosopher. She resides in Harlem, New York City. She is also a talented stage performer, comedienne, songstress, and dancer. Recently she has been experimenting with the medium of video as a form of communication and artistic expression and hopes to create her own personal channel one day.
Gifted with language, she has lived in Japan, Syria, and Egypt where she taught and edited the English language, while learning the local language. She loves to read Arabic poetry, especially Iraqi literature, and to listen to Japanese music, especially visual-kei and jazz. Translation of poetry is her favorite pass time, a creative, stimulating puzzle for both linguistic and emotional intuition.
